There are seasons in life when something inside us begins to change.
The things that once felt important may no longer feel meaningful. Old patterns begin to surface. Relationships shift. You may feel more sensitive, more emotional, or simply different from the person you used to be.
For many people, these experiences are part of what is often called a spiritual awakening.
Within many spiritual traditions, this journey is known as spiritual ascension.
What Is Ascension?
Many people ask, "What is Ascension?"
From a spiritual perspective, ascension is an ongoing process of releasing old beliefs, emotional wounds, limiting patterns, and fear-based ways of living so that we can experience greater love, peace, compassion, and inner freedom.
Rather than changing who you are, spiritual ascension is about remembering your authentic self. It is when the voice of your soul becomes louder than your mind and you start seeking more fulfillment in your life.
As you heal emotionally and spiritually, you may notice yourself responding to life with more patience, forgiveness, gratitude, and trust.
Many people experience this as a journey toward higher consciousness, where everyday life begins to feel more aligned with their values, purpose, and heart.
Which Dimension Are You Living In?
Everything is energy, and the way we think, react, and create reflects the energetic "dimension" we're operating from.
The table below compares three levels of consciousness — the reactive, fear-based patterns of the third dimension (3D), the heart-centered bridge of the fourth (4D), and the soul-aligned creator state of the fifth (5D).

Use it as a mirror: notice which column your thoughts and behaviors most often fall into, and let the columns to the right point the way toward where you'd like to grow.

Understanding the 5th Dimension
Many spiritual teachings describe humanity as moving from fear-based consciousness toward love-based consciousness.
This shift is sometimes described as moving from the 5th dimension of awareness.
Rather than referring to a physical location, many people understand the 5th dimension as a state of consciousness characterized by:
- Love
- Peace
- Compassion
- Unity
- Forgiveness
- Joy
- Trust
- Presence
As you continue your spiritual transformation, you may notice that life feels less driven by survival and more guided by purpose.
Instead of constantly asking, "How do I get through today?" you may begin asking, "How can I share my gifts with the world?"
Benefits of Spiritual Ascension
As your awareness expands, many people notice meaningful changes in different areas of life.
These may include:
- Greater emotional balance
- More inner peace
- Increased intuition
- A deeper connection with your purpose
- Stronger self-awareness
- Greater compassion for yourself and others
- Improved resilience during life's challenges
- More meaningful relationships
- Increased gratitude
- A greater sense of fulfillment
Many people also describe feeling more connected to synchronicities, creativity, and opportunities that align with their soul's path.
Ascension Symptoms
As old emotional patterns begin to surface, you may experience what many spiritual communities refer to as Ascension Symptoms.
These experiences are commonly discussed within spiritual traditions and are described in books such as The Diamond Codes: Light Information for the New Reality by Celia Fenn.
At the same time, many of these experiences can also have physical or psychological causes. If symptoms are severe, persistent, or concerning, it's important to seek guidance from a qualified healthcare professional.
Some commonly reported ascension symptoms include:
- Feeling emotionally sensitive
- Anxiety or emotional ups and downs
- Deep fatigue
- Changes in sleeping patterns
- Vivid dreams
- Neck, shoulder, or body tension
- Temporary digestive changes
- Increased intuition
- Feeling disconnected from old habits
- Heightened sensitivity to people or environments
- Ringing in the ears
- A desire for more solitude
- Feeling called toward a different way of living
Every person's journey is unique.
You may experience several of these changes, only a few, or none at all.
How to Deal with Ascension Symptoms
Healing continues long after a spiritual session or meaningful inner breakthrough.
The following practices can gently support your body and mind as you move through periods of energy healing and spiritual growth.
1. Take an Epsom Salt Bath

A warm Epsom salt bath may help your body relax after emotionally intense experiences.
Fill your tub with comfortably warm water and add 1 to 2 cups of Epsom salt.
Relax for 15 to 20 minutes while breathing slowly.
If you don't have a bathtub, a warm foot soak with Epsom salt can also feel wonderfully grounding.

2. Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Some people also enjoy adding electrolytes to support hydration.
Proper hydration helps support your body as it adjusts during periods of change.
3. Notice Your Thoughts

Pay attention to your inner dialogue.
Ask yourself:
- Am I responding from old fears?
- What beliefs am I ready to release?
- What new perspective is emerging?
Awareness creates space for new choices.
4. Journal Your Experience

Take a few quiet minutes each day to write.
You might reflect on:
- Emotions
- Dreams
- Physical sensations
- Synchronicities
- Gratitude
- Personal insights
There is no perfect way to journal.
Simply write honestly.
5. Spend Time in Nature

Nature has a remarkable way of helping us feel grounded.
Consider:
- Walking outdoors
- Sitting beneath a tree
- Watching the sunrise
- Watching the sunset
- Walking barefoot where it is safe
- Simply breathing fresh air
Even 10 to 20 minutes can help you feel more centered.
6. Connect with Your Spiritual Practice

If prayer or meditation is part of your life, spend a few quiet moments connecting with your own understanding of the Divine.
You may simply ask for guidance, peace, clarity, or support as you continue your journey.
Then allow yourself to sit quietly and simply receive.
7. Choose New Thoughts Every Day

Healing continues through the choices we make after awareness arrives.
As old beliefs begin to fall away, gently choose thoughts that support the person you are becoming.
Small choices practiced consistently often create the greatest transformation over time.
A Gentle Reminder
Spiritual growth isn't about becoming someone new.
It's a journey of remembering who you've always been beneath the fear, the conditioning, and the expectations you've carried for so long.
As your awareness expands, you may find yourself living with greater peace, deeper purpose, and a stronger connection to yourself and those around you.
If you feel called to explore your own journey of healing, spiritual awakening, or energy healing, I'd be honored to support you.
Together, we can gently explore the beliefs, emotions, and patterns that may be keeping you from experiencing the peace, clarity, and fulfillment your heart has been seeking.
